NSCS Staff: Spotlight on Amy Shopkorn
This week’s staff member of choice is Amy Shopkorn, the NSCS Senior Director of Operations. Amy works hard as a member of our Executive Team to manage many of the behind- the- scenes things that go on here in our office- from human resources to our website. Here’s a little more about Amy:
What’s the coolest place you’ve ever been?
It’s a toss up between Cinque Terre on the western coast of Italy and Bloomberg’s office in City Hall.
Where do you like to go to think and reflect?
I go running or biking on my own.
What’s your favorite food?
Sushi, though Lauren hates it so I’m lucky if I get to eat it even once a month.
What’s your all-time favorite TV show?
Cheers – it was a sad day when it finally ended.
What’s your most prized possession?
A box of old letters, pictures and stuff saved from my entire life. It lives under the bed.
What’s your all-time favorite song?
It’s a tie – Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp and The Hold-Out by Jackson Browne
What game show would you like to be on?
– Jeopardy or Nickolodeon GUTS. The Agro Crag looks like fun.
What’s your favorite sound?
The piano.
What’s the best book you’ve ever read?
Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying. It is written in multiple voices with each character telling part of the story.
Krispy Kreme or Dunkin’ Donuts?
Do you even have to ask? America Runs on Dunkin.
Hiking or shopping?
LOL – would you believe me if I said both? All depends on my mood though shopping for hiking clothes might trump all.
